"The Tao of It puts the Tao into the hands of
so many who might never have taken a second look at the Tao te Ching.
Some enjoy it for its humorous approach, some enjoy it for its profound
simplicity. And some just enjoy it for its illustrations. I
enjoy it because it keeps me mindful of the 'it-ness' of it all, and in
such an unassuming, inclusive way reminds me of the mystery that
surrounds me, us, this life, this world.... It's a gift of light worth
sharing with many.

"... a rousing cheer for Peaceman’s “The Tao Of It”.
The entire book really is Peaceman’s marvelous approach to life. He
shows It: keenly-viewed, curiously connected, and crisply expressed -
it’s a modern-eye
shaman’s prism,
refracting different aspects of our
world, and – to me – is a truthfully playful, wryly humorous, deeply
touching, gracefully irreverent book. It’s impossible to actually read,
as the plot is so vastly widespread and inescapably vague, and the only
character is “It” - well, I can only retain about a page at a time,
tops.
However, I find that it is amazing how, in “The Tao Of It”, various
themes weave continuously throughout, chapter after chapter, and just
how very close to home some of his lines (passages?) can land. Some
softly; some with quite a bit of force. It’s a sort of Book of
Fortunes
or a Seer’s Almanac or maybe a Cosmic Social Etiquette Guide..."

"What is the way to go these days? "THE" Way?
Back in the Lao-Tzu's time, the way was known as Tao.
This epic philosopher framed the Tao as the way to go, the way of
free-flow and letting go, allowing natural direction to take its course
and for man to unify with it.
Do we even know about it these days? For our benefit, Modern-day
writer and poet Peaceman, has given us a way to reconfigure
our
awareness of it as a way in his new book "The Tao of It": a
revisionist
script based on the ancient legend of Lao-Tzu's Way of the Tao.
His new book "The Tao of It" points out to us what we have got going
on
these days - with its transformational expounding of how to see the
magic of "IT". I
delighted to
find out about "IT" as I
read my
copy of this book. I suddenly realized how many ways there were
to see "IT" and it's certainly something I'll never forget.
The
book is funny and true and heart-warming, and draws one into it, as if
entering a safe container or circle, in which all of life can truly,
suddenly pop out and open up as a revelation of "IT"-ness.
There is an extremely extraordinary amount of creativity to this book
about "IT" or the "Tao of It." And the cartoons, or
different
illustrations on each page are also very unique, amusing, and fun to
color. Though my book
was
black and white when I got it, I soon
took to it with some water-colors and paints, which made some extra fun
for me.
I highly recommend the publication of this book, and feel that it will
make a big splash in the pool of all who would like to know more about
what is "IT" these days? What's the way now?
It's the Way
of
It.
See Peaceman's book for yourself and enjoy. Hope to see that many
people awaken to the fun, humor and wisdom in this book which expands
knowledge and awareness of "It"."

"I find the book to be simple and inspirational, stating the obvious
although largely ignored reality behind our everyday busy rush rush
lives. "It"is everywhere, already. "It" is the reality and
truth
which all children
know and live in. We adults are surrounded by "it" as well; just too mentally involved most of the time to pay any
attention to "it", the ultimate absolute reality behind all
exsistance. We just need a lot of reminders, like Peaceman's book to
get us to look around and to realise that we are all a part of "it" as it flows around and through us always."

...I recommend McGuire's "The Tao of It" as
insightful, funny
and wise. It never fails to delight me, as it is both profound and
disarmingly simple - one of those books you return to again and again.
I've also found it to be a wonderful gift, down to earth yet
inspiring.
Part
of the beauty of "The Tao of It" is that McGuire surprises us -
with the truth found in the everyday simple phrases of our life."

"I’m an English major, a writer, an editor, and sometimes a reviewer. I just
read The Tao of It by Peaceman and I thought the simplicity of the style and
illustrations contributed greatly to expressing the essence of the Tao. I felt
a lightness, a playfulness, and by page 27 I felt myself transformed in to a
state of peace. This book imparts the wisdom of a sage in the most delightful
way.
I’ve
read the Tao te Ching by Steven Mitchell. I just pulled it off my shelf
and opened it up for a quick read right after reading The Tao of It, and in
comparison it feels like someone lecturing to me. And I’m aware of the
separation of there being a lecturer and me. Not so with Peaceman’s take on
it. It is what it says
it is. It walks it’s
talk. Just reading it immerses
me in the very essence of the Tao. The Tao of It rocks me in a small boat on an
infinite sea. I will be keeping this one on my nightstand to relax after a
hectic day."

"I am writing to recommend that you consider publishing "The Tao of
It."
I have owned a copy of the book for a while, and am continually
impressed with the amount of simple daily wisdom inside. My favorite
game is to open it randomly and see what wisdom "It" will offer.
One needs not define "It"- one
needs only to be
open to the reality
that it's like air- without it, we all wouldn't be here. I'm
grateful for this book- I share it with friends, and has become a real coffee
table source somwhere between the bible and a daily joke calendar.
Filled with humor, challenge, inspiration and wonder, this book would
serve the world well to be
more widely shared. i KNOW
others will get
It."

"... regarding S.
J. "Peaceman"
McGuire's book,
The Tao Of It.
On the surface, The Tao Of It may appear to be simple.
But, it is a simplicity which contains profound ideas on some very deep
subjects. It speaks of living in the eternal now, awareness of one's
true self, oneness with the universe, and the importance of simply being.
True, many people have written
about these subjects over the
centuries.
But Mr. McGuire's approach to these topics is refreshingly accessible,
as are his language and drawings. I have spent the last three decades
studying the works of Thomas Merton,
and have published literary theory articles on them; and I can say with
certainty that if Merton were still alive, he would be reading The Tao Of It. I
highly recommend this book."

"I have
purchased 5 copies of "The Tao of It" from
Peaceman and probably will buy 5 more copies. My friends and I are so
enjoying the humor, the simplistic Truth "IT" conveys and the
spiritual implications I project into "IT". I believe "IT" would
appeal to a very broad audience (including children). Our perceptions of this world are
so broad and
diverse, we can use "IT" to
creatively to express all
our
needs.
Thank you Peaceman for your inspiring words."

"I keep my copy of "The Tao of It" in my car right next to the
passenger seat, so that I can either grab it myself when I have a moment... or so
I can tell my passenger to pick it up and find a chapter that tickles
his or her funny bone.
It's just that simple!
It's just that easy!
It's just that pleasurable.
It's just that read-able!
It's just that humorous!
It's just that
insightful!
It's just that
clever.
...The book, I mean."

"When you think about IT, IT's everywhere.
IT's up, IT's down, IT's all around. There is no place you can go
where IT's not already there. What a fun read The Tao Of IT has
been for us in my home. Whether the world knows IT or not, there needs
to be a copy of IT in every home.
The Tao of IT - is where
IT's at."

"Whatever IT is, it pervades our concepts, our language, and our
collective reality. The Tao Of It touches my heart with laughter,
heaps of common sense and a sense of awakening about perceptions easily
taken for granted in my daily walk.
“The Tao Of It” mirrors Lao Tsu’s Tao Te Ching which brings the “The Tao Of It” into the realm of the credible and scholarly. I
imagine scholars and teachers of anthropology, philosophy, religion,
and even business would find “The Tao Of It” useful for comparative
studies, research and human and
business development."
